About
Verve is the brainchild of Mike Cohen and Caitlin Johnson. Two Kindred spirits born a couple decades apart.
Mike and Caitlin met on a job in 2018. Mike was remodeling the pool and building a one of kind water feature. Caitlin was handling everything else in this elaborate backyard. Decking, fire-pits, an outdoor kitchen, the outdoor shower and all the landscaping/lighting. It isn’t always a good idea to have two contractors working on top of each other, but something was different here.
It was soon after that Mike was able to persuade Caitlin to come work with him at Crystal Falls. She transformed Crystal Falls with her unique eye and artistry for outdoor space. Her designs are award winning and one of a kind. Briefly, into their journey together, both realized that that would be better as 50/50 partners with their unique business relationship and friendship. Caitlin’s background and education in landscape coupled with Mike’s swimming pool experience became the perfect blend for Verve.
Mike Cohen began his career servicing swimming pools. After purchasing a small pool route of 40 pools in 1998, he built his company to over 3000 service clients and had 65 employees.
Crystal Falls Pools became the premier Scottsdale Pool Company. After 7 years of growing Crystal Falls Pool Service, Mike began simultaneously growing Crystal Falls Construction Services, a pool remodeling company fueled by customer requests.
This eventually grew into a boutique pool remodeling, pool building and limited backyard renovation company. In 2022, after 23 years, Mike Cohen decided to change trajectories and sell/partner Crystal Falls Pool Service with SPS Pool Care, the fasted growing pool company in the nation with operations across the sunbelt. Now he consults with SPS Pool Care, and can put more of an emphasis on his passion project, Verve Design Partners.
Caitlin Johnson has been part of the Crystal Falls Design Build team since 2018. Caitlin became partners with Mike in the construction company since 2020.
Caitlin graduated with honors from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Landscape Architecture, with minors in Interior Design, Urban Planning, and Design Studies.
She has been in the industry for over a decade. She has won numerous awards for her landscape designs and holds a license in Landscape Construction. She is passionate about designing spaces that evoke an emotional response while remaining functional. Her expertise in plants, drainage, lighting, and pools creates the full outdoor package for any home.
Jesus has been part of Crystal Falls for over a decade. He began his career cleaning pools, then became a repairman, the head of repairs and finally part of the construction team. Jesus is a project manager and has a passion for building things.
Jesus understands every aspect of building from excavation to hydraulics, electrical and everything in between. Jesus has a keen eye for detail and a great vision for what makes a perfect job. Jesus speaks both English and Spanish which allows for a seamless transitions from design to build.
